How can I get in contact?

If you would like to put a book on hold or extend the loan period, you can call or send an email:

I am looking for a book.

You can find the books from our library in the Library catalogue – they are marked to be in the "jazykověda a baltistika" collection. To make the process quicker, please note the call numbers of the desired books.

How can I borrow a book?

It is necessary to activate your account – you can do so at the Circulation and Registration Desk at the Central Library or online.

To speed up the process, you might note the call number of the book and inform the librarian.

It is not possible to put a hold on a book through the central reservation system. If you would like to place a hold, please send us an email (knihovna.ujba@gmail.com).

The standard loan period is 30 days. You can manage your loans after logging into your account in the Catalogue.

It is possible to return books from the departmental library via the Central Library Book Drop – please contact the departmental library if you do so to ensure there are no problems with the return process.

The students may borrow dictionaries and textbooks of Lithuanian, Latvian, Finnish and Estonian long term (i.e. the entire semester or even several semesters).

I am graduating.

Upon graduation, the student must present a confirmation of no outstanding obligations with the departmental library (not the Central Library!) to their officer of studies. You can obtain this confirmation from the librarian during office hours.
